Training needs analysis

Training needs analysis (TNA) is the critical point at which to establish links between training and results, as this is the time that decisions will be made about what training will be provided. onEvidence use TNA to establish training objectives, as well as to inform programme development, delivery and evaluation. We look at every job role within your organisation and evaluate existing skills and knowledge to identify gaps before they become a problem, helping you to develop a comprehensive training strategy.

Training strategy

A training strategy has always been seen as essential to improving productivity, and that link is well proven. This means that a training strategy is key to attracting and retaining the best people. Bespoke course development

Course development and design is informed by the needs assessment and training strategy, along with the intended method of delivery (see below). Our course designer works closely with our researchers, practitioners and, where applicable, experts-by-experience, to develop effective, interactive courses based on sound pedagogical principles, that learners will find immersive and enjoyable. This may include video content, animation, PowerPoint shows, images, info-graphics, multimedia, quizzes and group exercises to enable quality interaction of learners with content, other learners, and instructors. Training delivery

Delivery may be in-person workshops, e-Learning, or blended, depending on a on a number of factors, such as the location of your workforce; are they home-based? spread over a large geographical area? or all under one roof with available in-house space for training? onEvidence develop bespoke solutions to fit with the location of your staff and their availability. Our trainers are experienced in the latest delivery methods and are trained in GDPR and safeguarding.

Programme evaluation

Our training programme evaluation is used to test the effectiveness and efficiency of programmes and other interventions to assess the extent to which they have produced or influenced observed results, and to objectively examine what role the programmes played in producing the observed results. Criminal justice

Inclusive, solution-led programmes and training initiatives to improve public safety and victim support and transform the lives of those who have committed harm. We work closely with charities, the police, defense and prosecution lawyers, courts and prisons, as well as community-led youth, domestic and sexual abuse organisations, and mental health groups to reduce the risk of vulnerable people being harmed or harming others.

Violence and aggression

A positive psychological approach is central to the development of all our bespoke training courses. Our Head of Research, Dr Roxanne Khan, is an expert in violence and aggression with over 20 years’ experience as a practitioner and trainer. She works closely with other academics, emergency services, the education sector, social services, charities and others working with challenging behaviour, to develop effective training courses and innovative intervention programmes.


Our safeguarding training team works with clients and their stakeholders to deliver exceptional programmes in a range of safeguarding areas. We provide online workshops, classroom-based, or blended learning and continuing professional development CPD which helps you to integrate your safeguarding policies into practice. Recent courses

onEvidence recently developed a range of culturally competent evidence-based training courses for professionals working with victims of domestic abuse, forced marriage, so-called ‘honour’ violence and FGM. These include awareness building to help inform decisions about policy and practice, and safeguarding best practice to improve the survivor experience and outcomes.
